It's official - cold season has struck. Alex endured an ear infection about a month ago. Now we get to experience bronchiolitis - a/k/a RSV. Boooooooooo. We went to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta's urgent care center last night because his fever wouldn't break and his breathing didn't sound right. They were really great there - not like other urgent care experiences I've had in the past. But the tests they ran on him were not fun. Urine sample from an infant - not cool. And they drew his blood. He was not a happy camper last night, but I can't really blame him. This morning we went to his pediatrician and they determined he has a lower respiratory infection (brochiolitis) which is usually caused by RSV. Considering all kids are infected at some point I'm glad he's getting it out of the way. But the treatment is not fun. He had to have a breathing treatment in the doctor's office and we have to administer an inhaler every four hours through an infant breathing tube-thing. He does not like it so it's going to be a fight. But hopefully he will be feeling better in the next few days and I'm really hoping it doesn't turn into something more serious (hospital visit - no no no).
Speaking of sick, Viviana can't seem to get rid of her initial ear infection - she's on her third round of antibiotics. And Courtney and my mother are also sick with a pretty nasty cold. I think the entire Luke family is just sick right now. I'm just counting the days right now until I catch something.
Alex's Nana (Justin's mom) had her knee surgery today so we are all hoping it goes well and I'm sure she will be back on her feet in a few days - I can't really imagine her not bouncing back from anything quickly. Even if she has to hobble around I know she will do anything but sit still :) Must be a Virgo thing because neither me nor my dad can sit still either.
Oh, and Justin and I went to two weddings this past month - and have at least two more next year. Phew. I think this might be the last round of weddings, though. Both were a lot of fun and we're really happy for both couples. Next we're throwing a shower for Renee and Jason at our house which I hope will go well. Oh, speaking of our house and entertaining, Justin built and finished/stained an amazing dining room table for us. It's huuuuge! And he stained the top ebony and legs a dark ceder/reddish brown color. He also banged up the top really nicely so it looks like an antique. I had no idea he was so talented! I can't wait for everybody to see it because it really does look great and it's so nice not to have a big empty dining room anymore.
I think that's about everything up until now. Hopefully everyone who isn't feeling well will be better in the next few days and I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Poor Alex! I hate to hear that he is so sick. I hope he feels better soon.
Scott and I got my parents' old dining room set since they got a new one, so yay for new dining room furniture!
