Sorry for the long silence. Life has been pretty busy lately.
I'm officially back at work. Boo. But returning to work has helped me with establishing a routine and schedule in the house which makes me uber-happy. Alex is enjoying his day care and I love the staff there. He's the youngest munchkin which makes him kind of special - everyone wants to hold him. He's also making huge leaps developmentally. He can push himself up very well when he's on his tummy, he's holding his head very steady (only a slight bobble here and there), and he will hold his toys. He also tries to eat his toys, but that's to be expected. He has discovered his thumb and is in love with it I think. Mean ol' mommy won't let him have a pacifier so the thumb it is. (I've tried giving him pacifiers and he just knocks it out of his mouth in order to get his thumb in there!)
This past weekend was also Alex's first trip! We drove to visit my half-sister in Charlotte, NC with my sister and Viviana and the hubbies. Alex did wonderfully and slept most of the way. He was a bit fussy when we went to his first restaurant but I think he was just hot and tired at that point. Of course, he may just not like Chinese. Overall it was a great trip and we all enjoyed ourselves. Mostly my baby-snatcher sister. She constantly had one of those babies in her arms.
Justin's business is doing well - he and Stewart have been extremely busy - which is awesome. They recently bought shirts with their company logo as well as signs to place in people's yards. If anybody needs any remodeling work done on their house please please please call me or him :)
Oh! The most exciting thing! Alex has slept in his crib everyday this week. Mommy and daddy have reclaimed their bedroom! He's been doing a great job, too. It's funny, I was ready for him to start sleeping in his crib before Justin was - and I'm the one that has to get up in the middle of the night to nurse him. I kept telling Justin that if I'm okay with going up and down the stairs in the dark at 2 am then he should be okay with it. I guess I'm just ready for the house to be normal again. I miss having my little munchkin nearby, but I was ready for a routine and normalcy. And I can't lie and say he doesn't end up in our bed in the early morning anyway :)
